Sometimes I have really cool ideas... so I try them out. Sometimes they turn out beautifully and perfectly and just like I imagined them! Like spraypainting glass candlesticks.
Other times.... the results of my "experiments" give me an eye twitch. Like when I started to paint my kitchen table red. *twitch twitch twitch*
I would like to share with you my process on how I develop my ideas and projects. Usually, I find a picture in a magazine, or on a website, or (as of late) in a blog post. I then put together my own version of the picture using things I find around my house or in my local Goodwill store. Because decorating my house for Christmas is literally just around the corner, I have decided to improve upon my process. My project success rate right now is approximately 75-85%... I want to get it to at least 90% (I know, this isn't "the math of home"... don't bail on me just yet.)!
Therefore, I have added a step to my project planning process.... sketches. Now, if you are reading this and you just so happen to be one of my brothers or my artist friend Sarah, look away. Look away right now. This is the sketch I have drawn out for my eat in kitchen area.....
I'm sharing this horrendous drawing with you so you can give me your ideas on how to improve upon, not only this little project, but also my project planning process. Throw 'em at me! I'm ready!
