Show me your tree!

I love anything and everything that has to do with parties. I love planning, hosting, attending, and even eating at parties. So.... as a new blogger... and a born-to-be hostess, I would love to host a block blog party!! Because Christmas is coming up, I'm thinking the party should be about Christmas trees!

So, on or before Sunday Dec 19th, post a picture of your beautiful Christmas tree(s) to your blog. Then head on over here to this very post at The Science of Home and submit a comment with the link to your Christmas tree blog post. I will then compile all of the posts and pictures so that we may all enjoy each other's Tannenbaums (and hopefully we will all get a little more blog traffic)!

Here are some pictures to inspire you as we head into the Christmas season.....

Looooove the white theme on this tree found in the current Pottery Barn catalog.

Pottery Barn

Can you see that little Santa hat tree topper? I think it just sent me over the edge. Oh, and I just might have to find an outdoor reindeer decoration this year. Not for outside my home, but for right next to my tree ;)

Peacock feathers. Stop it. I can't. The mixed metallic look is alllll over the place this holiday season, and it's something I plan to bring into my 2010 Christmas decor... and maybe even my gift wrapping! Or is that still considered decor?

This tree has little roses on it... can you see it?! They are peach and yellow and just give this tree a very botanical look. The scientist in me loves it :)

 Does your Christmas tree have a theme? Do you stick with a tree-wide color scheme? Do you match your gift wrap to your tree decorations? Any particular ornaments you are on the lookout for this season (I'm trying to add more birds to my tree- it's a family tradition!)?

I now have 14 followers and my blog has been viewed almost 300 times over the last few days. Thanks for the support, everyone! <3

  2. 16. Loving the blog. just read through it - - - at work. Thank you for helping me pass the time. I am on the verge of launching my own about eating locally, cooking, etc... i haven't quit narrowed the topic down yet but soon it will happen! I started one for my "pet" tiger. Kind of an inside joke, but cute nonetheless (www.stripedadventures.tumblr.com). Hope all is well. Tell the husband I said hello. Merry Holiday Season!!

  3. I have a theme this year...it is green & brown with little bits of red...haven't actually put it up yet since I'm waiting on my tree (only real for me!)...would you like to help me decorate????? You could scientifically explain to me the reasoning for positioning each oranament at a 90 degree angle to the branch (;

  4. Thanks, Blake! Never thought you'd see the day where I enjoy writing, right?! I'm sure my grammar is just as cringe worthy as it was in high school... but at least I'm not making you edit it!

    Beckie, glad I could entertain you for a bit at work today :) Gregg says hello!

    Ashley, brown Christmas deco is hot this year. Good choice! I would love to help you decorate! We do a real tree as well, so it probably won't be happening until early December..... not-so-patiently waiting.....

  6. Love the idea of the reindeer next to the tree! We actually have one that the lights stopped working on, and I think this is the perfect solution for it!
